Note: YouTube videos are limited to a length of 30 minutes when published through the Streambed app.
Note: Twitter videos are limited to a length of 30 seconds when published through the Streambed app.
The content index page is where you see all the publicly posted content.
The first window is where your content is viewed on social media.
The smaller video window is going to be where the file is stored on streambed’s servers.
Yes you can! just go to the posting in the content stream and click "generate indexing page" and follow the prompts.
It goes to a block explorer. For more on this, checkout “FLO Blockchain” under the All About Blockchain Section
The creator page is a summary of all the videos that the creator has been present in.
When you are a contributor, it means you played a role in helping with the production of the posted content.
The different roles denote what someone's role was in helping bring that piece of content to life. Right now, there are "Sponsor", "Co-Creator" and "Talent". in the future, these roles may have different permissions, but for now they all work the same.
This means that you are the original creator of the content. You were the first person to post this piece of content.
Click the ‘SELECT ALL’ button to deselect all of the content. The scroll down to the video you want to see the analytics for and click the tiny box on the left.
More information on your analytics will then appear on the dashboard. For more on this, see “Navigating the dashboard explainer here”
The content stream is a place where you can see all the content being uploaded via streambed. You can filter the content based on what platform it was posted on.
From here, you can actually search for keywords of videos you're looking for.
At the bottom of every video in the content stream, it will tell you whether or not you are a publisher, co-creator, or contributor.
Yes, however it will only show for whatever app that the filter is applied to.
Example: If the filter is applied for ‘YouTube’ it will only show videos posted on YouTube.
FLO is a public record for building decentralized applications that utilizes metadata attached to each transaction. This metadata layer allows reading and writing to the blockchain quickly and easily, encouraging unique apps and tools to be built with FLO. Each block is processed in intervals of 40 seconds. FLO is a fork of litecoin which retains very similar characteristics to how Bitcoin functions.
Open Index Protocol (OIP) is an open source specification for a persistent worldwide index and file library useful for data publishing, file distribution and facilitating direct payments. OIP uses blockchain technology and distributed networking to operate with no central authority: record indexing, file storage/distribution and transaction management are carried out collectively by the decentralized network.
OIP is the first permissionless system with a decentralized and transparent index for digital content and protected file persistence. The system uses a Salutary Protocol model, which funnels financial incentives to both application and protocol layers, ensuring sustainability and antifragility of the system through open market incentive alignment of all participants.
The OIP specification describes:
Open Index Protocol uses the Flo blockchain for the meta-data index and interoperable transport protocols for file storage/distribution and payments. Current implementation supports SIA SKYNET for file storage/distribution and Bitcoin, Litecoin and Florincoin tokens for payments; support for additional file and value transport protocols is on the roadmap.
Your data is stored, encrypted, on the blockchain. We can never take it down, that’s one of the most important features of streambed. However, we cannot decrypt the information without your consent. If you deactivate your account, we have no way to identify, use, or see any of your information. For more on what we store and how we use it, see our privacy policy.
Make sure when you deactivate your account to write down your mnemonic phrase. This phrase is then entered into our security protocols to reinstate your account. Put this phrase somewhere safe - do not store it digitally. Write it down on a piece of paper and don’t show it to anyone.
To recover your account:
A mnemonic phrase, mnemonic recovery phrase or bitcoin seed is a list of words which stores all the information needed to recover a bitcoin wallet. A wallet will typically generate a mnemonic backup phrase and instruct the user to write it down on paper. If the user's computer breaks or their hard drive becomes corrupted, they can download the same wallet again and use the paper backup to get their bitcoins back.
In many cases a mnemonic phrase is preferred as a way to make it easier to access a wallet since instead of individual characters/numbers, it’s almost as if it were a sentence made up of words.
The software of a wallet uses a whole set of words taken from a vocabulary; at that every word is assigned to a specific number. A mnemonic phrase can be modified into a number, which is used as a seed that generates all pairs of keys for this wallet. The English word list for the BIP39 standard has 2048 words. If a phrase consists of 12 words, then the number of possible combinations is 2048 to the 12th power, or 2 to the 132nd power, i.e. the phrase will have 132 bits of safety.
Theoretically, one can think out the mnemonic phrase by his own, but it is not safe, because a human cannot do a great job with the random generation. The best way to secure one’s wallet is to take a mnemonic phrase generated by the program code.
To keep our analytics accurate for each account, we only allow one type of social media account per Streambed user.
On the right side of the screen, make sure you have selected the videos/posts you want to see the analytics for. If you would like to access the total overall analytics, click “select all.”
The app will populate your 40 previous items from each of your social media platforms, but it will not create streambed pages for them. You must go through and generate index pages for each to have their analytics show up in your feed.
In future builds of streambed you will be able to edit contributors. For now, take your video down and try again.
Blockchain proofing is at the heart of how we are able to do what we do. For more on this, check out our Chairman Michael’s article on our Blog.
Don’t see your question here? Contact us and we’ll get back to you within 24-48 hours. We’d love to hear from you!
Youtube only allows you to upload 20 hours of video per day, so Streambed does the same. In future we will be developing scheduling capabilities, but until then just come back each day and continue on.
If you don’t click the link to activate your account within 24 hours, it will expire and so will your account. Register again using the same username and it should work. If not, and we’ll reset it for you.
Currently we do not support editing tags on contributors. This is a feature we aim to implement in the next few months. For now, take your video down and upload it again with the correct information.
